Accessibility Statement
What we’re aiming for
This site is built to WCAG 2.2 Level AA. We’re a small private business, so the public-sector accessibility regulations don’t apply to us — but the Equality Act 2010 duty to make reasonable adjustments does, and building to the standard is cheaper than retrofitting it.
What’s been done
- Semantic HTML with a correct heading order on every page
- Skip link to main content, and a visible focus outline throughout
- Everything operable by keyboard, including the menu and the accordions
- Text contrast of at least 4.5:1 — the light theme was chosen partly for this reason
- Tap targets of at least 44 px, with a fixed call / book / directions bar on mobile
- Real labels on every form field, not placeholder text pretending to be one
- Descriptive alt text on photographs; decorative graphics hidden from assistive technology
- Reduced-motion preference respected
- Layout reflows at 320 px and survives 200% zoom
- Nothing relies on colour alone — the open/closed indicator carries text as well
- FAQ accordions use native
<details>, so they work with JavaScript off - The registration field accepts any spacing or case and tidies it for you
Known limitations
- The embedded Google Map, once you choose to load it, is a third-party component we don’t control. The address, postcode and directions are always available as plain text on the contact page, so you never need the map.
- Photographs on the site are placeholders pending a shoot at the garage; alt text will be reviewed again when the real images go in.
If something doesn’t work for you
Tell us and we’ll fix it. In the meantime, anything you can do on this site you can do on the phone — bookings, quotes, questions. Ring 0113 496 0180 or email access@koionroetaa.info. We aim to reply within two working days, and we’ll send our answer in whatever format suits you.
At the garage
The office entrance is at ground level with no step and the waiting area is on the same level. Accessible parking is the bay nearest the office door. If you need help getting in or out, ring ahead or sound your horn and someone will come out to you.
Draft note: the physical access description above is written from the unit plan and must be verified on site before publication. Don’t publish an accessibility claim nobody has checked in person.
